Record Night for Hurdle as Springfield Tops Maine 120-94

PORTLAND, ME - The Springfield Armor (10-10) took it to the Maine Red Claws (7-14) early and kept the pressure on the entire game, picking up their fourth win over the Red Claws this season, 120-94. Armor guard Lance Hurdle sunk 8 of 16 three-point attempts, tying a team record for threes and threes attempted. Hurdle was just two three-pointers shy of equaling the league mark.

Springfield rocketed out of the gate, taking a 64-42 lead into the half. Maine was never able to respond defensively, handing the Armor 36 more points in the third for a 100-70 lead with an entire stanza left the play. The Armor's biggest lead of the night was 32 points as they cruised to their 10th victory, pushing them back to the .500 mark on the season.

Maine's Jerome Randle led all scorers with 28 points. The Red Claws also had 4 other players in double figures with Xavier Silas scoring 15, Ricky Davis adding 13 and Lawrence Hill and Kenny Hayes picking up 11 apiece.

Lance Hurdle led Springfield with 24 points en route to tying a team-record for three pointers made (8) and three pointers attempted (16). The Armor's starting five scored 89 of the 120 points. Damian James recorded the only double-double of the night with 23 points and 10 rebounds while L.D. Williams scored 22 and Jerry Smith recorded 20. Former Red Claws Eugene Spates had 10 off the bench.

The two teams will meet again on Thursday at 7 PM at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, MA. It will be the third straight meeting between the two arch rivals.
