Bakersfield Jam News Release

BAKERSFIELD - Renaldo Major's double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds was not enough as the Bakersfield Jam (11-9) lost to the visiting Sioux Falls Skyforce (6-15) 114-107 tonight. The Skyforce led by as many as 14 points on the night and snapped an eight game loosing streak.

The Jam were the first to strike tonight as Renaldo Major rebounded his own miss and got a lay-up to go 30 seconds into the game. On the next possession, Charles Garcia rebounded Dominique Coleman's miss and got a put-back of his own to tie the game at 2 apiece. Major came right back at Sioux Falls with a finger roll layup on an assist from Jeremy Wise, but Gabe Pruitt answered with a long three pointer to put the Skyforce up 5-4 with 10:16 remaining in the first quarter. Sioux Falls did not surrender the lead for the rest of the game.

Bakersfield stayed aggressive the whole contest, getting to the free throw line 42 times and converting 35 of those shots, including two from Osiris Eldridge with 31.4 seconds left in the game to bring the Jam within four points, 111-107. Patrick Ewing Jr. extended the lead back to six as he was fouled with 15.7 seconds remaining. After Adrian Thomas missed a three point attempt with 10.8 seconds on the clock, Dominique Coleman put the final touches on the game at the free throw line, making 1-of-2, to bring the final score to 114-107.

Juan Pattillo finished the game with 18 points off the bench. Jeremy Wise added 15 points and 6 assists. David Palmer had 14 points and 6 rebounds.
