
Bighorns Fall to Toros

RENO, NEV.-The Reno Bighorns lost a tight game to the first place Austin Toros Sunday afternoon, falling short 107-114. Sacramento Kings assignee Tyler Honeycutt led the Bighorns with 23 points and seven rebounds while Blake Ahearn added 24 points of his own. The Toros were led by Justin Dentmon's 31 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, and Leo Lyons' 27 points and 16 rebounds.
The Toros led by as many as 18 points in the first half until the Bighorns made a run of their own, trailing 55-58 going in to halftime. The second half was close throughout until a couple of three-pointers by Lyons put the Toros up for good.
While the Bighorns were able to force 24 turnovers, they could not convert on the opportunities, shooting only 40.9 percent for the game. The Toros hit on 47 percent of their shot attempts, including 52 percent on three-pointers.
The Bighorns return to the Reno Events Center to take on the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on January20th and 21st. Both games tip off at 7 p.m.
