D-Fenders Defeat Stampede

BOISE, Idaho - Tony Bobbitt had 19 points, making 4-of-9 three-pointers in 30 minutes, but the Idaho Stampede lost to the Los Angeles D-Fenders 99-94 at CenturyLink Arena.

The Stampede trailed by as many 26, then pulled to within two with under one minute left to play, but saw the D-Fenders close out the win. Los Angeles used a huge first quarter to build a 15-point lead, shooting 70.6 percent from the field. Seth Tarver had 16 points, Terrico White had 14 and Antoine Walker had 10 points. The Stampede made just 21-of-36 free throws, however. The Stampede outscored the D-Fenders 29-18 in the final stanza, using a staunch defense, holding LA to just 5-of-16 shooting and forcing six turnovers.

The D-Fenders had six players, including Brandon Costner, who had 22, Elijah Millsap (21 points, eight rebounds, four assists) and Courtney Fortson, who had 15 points before being ejected late in the game after a second technical foul.

The Stampede stay at home to play the league-leading Austin Toros on Jan. 20 and 21 at CenturyLink Arena at 7 p.m. (MST).
