Red Deer Rebels News Release
WEEKEND RECAP
The Rebels battled hard in a pair of tightly battled contests this past weekend but unfortunately came up just short in both of them.
Friday in Lethbridge, the game was tied through 54 minutes before the Hurricanes pulled away for a 4-1 win. Kalan Lind scored an early power play goal for the Rebels, who got another solid goaltending performance from Kyle Kelsey. Harrison Meneghin was superb in net for Lethbridge and was the game's first star.
Saturday in Red Deer, the Rebels unveiled their all-new alternate jerseys in a highly anticipated playoff rematch with the Saskatoon Blades, the top-ranked team in the conference. Jhett Larson scored another power play goal for the Rebels, unfortunately a second period tally for the Blades was the difference in a 2-1 win for Saskatoon. Rhett Stoesser gave Red Deer another great goaltending performance in front of over 4,500 fans at the Peavey Mart Centrium.
