SANDY, Utah - Real Salt Lake (13-11-7, 46 pts., 6th West) returns home to host the Portland Timbers on Saturday at Rio Tinto Stadium at 7:30 p.m. MT. After a hard-fought 1-1 road draw against Sporting Kansas City on Sunday, RSL defends its 14-game home unbeaten streak on Saturday against a Western Conference rival and the No. 4 team in the West standings in the Timbers. It's the first of two meetings between the two teams as they vie for the postseason in the final weeks of the season. RSL is looking to keep its home unbeaten stretch (10-0-4) alive against the Timbers in the first meeting since a pair of victories over Portland in July and September last season.

On Sunday, RSL FW Corey Baird scored his seventh goal of the season - leading all MLS rookies in scoring - and FW Jefferson Savarino earned his team-leading 11th of the year and held on for a 1-1 draw with Kansas City to keep pace in the Western Conference playoff chase. Still two points clear of the LA Galaxy, RSL is now just two points behind the Timbers for fourth in the West.

RSL is sixth in the Western Conference playoff race with just three matches remaining on the season. Two of those matches will come against the Timbers, including the regular season finale on October 21 at Providence Park in Portland. In addition to Saturday's match, RSL will also host the New England Revolution on October 18 as it vies for a return to the postseason.
