New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Two New England Revolution players, defender Antonio Delamea (Slovenia) and Homegrown midfielder Zachary Herivaux (Haiti), have been called in by their respective national teams for upcoming international matches. Both players will join their national teams on Monday, Oct. 8 and will be unavailable for the Revolution's MLS match on Oct. 13 vs. Orlando City SC.
Delamea, 27, earns his first call-up to the Slovenia National Team since October 2017, when he was an unused substitute for a pair of FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches. He totaled five bench appearances and one start in the nation's qualifying campaign, playing 90 minutes against Malta on June 10, 2017. The Celje native owns two career caps with Slovenia, his first coming in a 45-minute outing in a friendly against Poland on Nov.14, 2016. Slovenia will take on Norway in Oslo on Saturday, Oct. 13 before returning home for a match with Cyprus on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
Since joining the Revolution in January 2017, Delamea has totaled 45 starts and 3,883 minutes played in central defense, contributing one goal and one assist. He has started 16 matches thus far in 2018. Over the last two seasons, Delamea leads the club in clearances (217), headed clearances (108), and blocks (31).
Herivaux, 22, joins the Haiti National Team for its second of four 2019/20 CONCACAF Nations League qualifying matches against Saint Lucia on Saturday, Oct. 13. The contest will be played in Castries, Saint Lucia. Haiti won its first match in the inaugural season of the CONCACAF Nations League, defeating Sint Maarten, 13-0, on Sept. 10. The tournament will determine 10 of the 16 participants for the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup. After one match, Haiti currently sits atop the qualifying table with three points.
A native of Brookline, Mass. and the third Homegrown Player signing in Revolution history, Herivaux owns four caps for his international career. He most recently played for Haiti as a substitute against Sint Maarten on Sept. 10, and also previously featured in a friendly against Argentina on May 29. For the Revs this season, the midfielder has registered 115 minutes played in four appearances across all competitions, three coming in MLS play. Herivaux will depart for international duty on Oct. 8 and will return to New England on Oct. 15.
The Revolution return to action on Saturday, Oct. 6 for a meeting with Atlanta United FC at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The match will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Univision, Twitter.com, 98.5 The Sports Hub, and 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA.
