Reading Snaps Winning Streak

Reading rallied to score two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat the Harrisburg Senators 4-3 Saturday night in Reading. The loss snapped the Senators six-game winning streak. Taylor Gushue provided all the offense for the Sens, hitting a three-run home run in the sixth inning.

ON CAPITOL HILL

Steven Fuentes pitched six solid frames for the Senators but took a no-decision. He allowed six hits and two runs. It was the second Sens quality start this season. Alberto Guerrero went the final two innings and took the loss. He allowed three straight hits in the bottom of the eighth which plated two runs for Reading.

WITH THE GAVEL

Taylor Gushue hit a three-run home run, his third home run this season. Wilson Garcia had two hits.

FILIBUSTERS

The Senators six-game winning streak was snapped. Even with the loss the Sens have won the series with Reading. Harrisburg used just two pitchers in the game for the first time this season.

ON DECK

The Senators and Reading Fightin Phils play game six of their six-game series Sunday at 3:15 p.m. at First Energy Field in Reading. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 3:05 p.m.
