
Reading Phillies invade Trenton waterfront June 24

Trenton Thunder News Release
The Thunder will take the road today to play New Hampshire and Portland. The team will return home on Friday, June 24th to kick off a six-game, seven-day homestand at Waterfront Park.
Friday night's game will begin at 7:05 and is Verizon Wireless Thunder and Reading Team Card Set Night. The first 1,500 fans ages 6 and over will each receive team card sets for both teams. The future stars of the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies will be represented with this great giveaway.
After a sure-to-be thrilling game between these two teams with local Major League affiliates on Friday night, the excitement continues on Saturday night at 7:05 with AAA Mid-Atlantic Fireworks immediately following the game. To add to the excitement, the Amazing Rubberboy will be on hand at Waterfront Park to astonish fans with his remarkable flexibility as seen on CBS, FOX, TBS, NBC and other television networks around the world.
Sunday's game begins at 1:35 and is Morris Hall Youth Chase T-shirt Day, with the first 1,000 fans ages 5-15 to enter each receiving a Chase t-shirt. The shirt features Chase, That Golden Thunder, in action catching a frisbee during an on field promotion.
After playing games for twenty days in a row, the team will enjoy a much-deserved Monday off before the homestand resumes on June 28th against the Toronto Blue Jay's affiliate, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
Tuesday night's game will start at 7:05 and is NJ Family Care Thunder Cap Night. The first 1,500 fans ages 6 and over will receive a Thunder baseball hat to wear proudly in support of the Thunder as well as to keep cool in the summer heat. Wednesday night's game is Capital Health System Lou Gehrig Bronze Replica Statue Night. The first 2,000 fans ages 6 and over to pass through the gates will receive this unique collectible featuring the Hall-of-Famer. The last game of the homestand is on Thursday night at 7:05 and will have Chevrolet Fireworks after the game to end the month of June with a bang.
This homestand is the last chance to see the New Hampshire Fisher Cats play in Trenton during the 2005 regular season, while the Reading Phillies will only be in town one more time when they return August 8-10. For ticket information, call the Thunder ticket office at 609-394-3300.

CANNIZARO CALLED UP TO AAA
The Thunder transferred SS Andy Cannizaro from Trenton to Columbus (AAA) of the International League on Tuesday. The Thunder added INF Ramiro Pena to their roster from Tampa (A) of the Florida State League.
Cannizaro is in his third season with Trenton and currently has a .248 BA with 0 HR and 20 RBI. He has been the starting shortstop for the Thunder during 2005. In 2003, Cannizaro hit .276 with 1 HR and 39 RBI for Trenton and was the toughest Thunder hitter to strikeout (24 K in 369 AB). He was "moved" to 2B for five games when Derek Jeter had a rehab assignment with Trenton. MORE

Stephen Borelli, an assistant news director for USAToday.com, will sign copies of his highly anticipated new book, How About That! The Life of Mel Allen, on Thursday, July 14, at Mercer County Waterfront Park. Borelli will be signing the book beginning at 7:00pm at the ballpark located at One Thunder Road. THUNDER RALLY LATE TO TOP BOWIE
Kevin Thompson's three-run homer in the bottom of the 7th Inning powered the Thunder to a 5-1 win over Bowie on Thursday afternoon. Trenton won three of four games in the series from the Baysox.
Trailing 1-0, Trenton got two runners on base with two outs. Thompson then ripped a 2-1 pitch from Bowie reliever Nick McCurdy over the left field wall for a 3-1 lead. The Thunder added two more runs on a Jason Brown double off Baysox reliever Scott Rice in the 8th Inning. McCurdy (0-3) allowed three runs in two innings of work after starter Richard Stahl shutout the Thunder over the first five innings. MORE
