Rayz will win...guaranteed
February 3, 2004 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Corpus Christi IceRays News Release
Corpus Christi, Texas: February 3, 2004 â The Corpus Christi Rayz have guaranteed a victory in Thursday night's game against the Lubbock Cotton Kings. The Rayz organization is so confident of their teams projected success that they have guaranteed the victory and are offering a free ticket to a future Rayz game to everyone who attends Thursday night's game if the Rayz lose.
Often times in sports, individuals such as players or coaches, will guarantee a victory, however for the Rayz to guarantee this victory as an organization shows tremendous belief in the franchise's confidence. Other guarantees rarely hold a tangible offer such as the one the Rayz are offering. Exhibited by this guarantee and the team's attitude as of late, the Rayz still remain optimistic that the postseason is an attainable goal.
"Our fans deserve to see a win, and they're going to get one," said Rayz General Manager/Senior Vice President Pat Dunn. "This Thursday night the Rayz will win, and bring the playoffs one step closer to Corpus Christi."
The Rayz have a huge weekend of hockey coming up with three games in four nights. After Lubbock comes to the Memorial Coliseum for their second and final appearance of the season, the Rayz will host the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees on Friday night. The Rayz then travel to Rio Grande Valley on Sunday to finish up the weekend of action. The Rayz have a chance to sweep the Killer Bees, one of the two teams they have to overtake in their division to make the playoffs. Tickets for Thursday and Friday nights' games are still available, but going fast. Call (361)814-PUCK for more information.
If the Rayz fail to make good on their guaranteed win Thursday night, every fan with a ticket stub for that night's game can redeem it for a FREE ticket to any upcoming Rayz regular season game for the remainder of the regular season.
"Either way, fans are leaving the Coliseum Thursday night with a smile on their face," said Dunn. "But I guarantee, they'll be smiling from a Rayz win."
The Rayz have played the Lubbock Cotton Kings once before this season, and the Rayz beat the Cotton Kings 4-3 in overtime after Brad Wingfield's game winning goal. This time around, more excitement has been assured by the Rayz. The games Thursday and Friday night both start at 7:05pm. The doors open up at 6:05pm. Call (361)814-PUCK for more information on how to be at the Coliseum this week for a guaranteed Rayz win.
