Rays DH Luke Scott to Rehab with Bulls

DURHAM, NC- Tampa Bay Rays Designated Hitter Luke Scott is scheduled to begin a two game MLB rehab assignment with the Durham Bulls beginning on Monday afternoon at the DBAP.

Scott, who signed as a free agent with the Rays this past offseason, has been on the disabled list since June 15 (retroactive to June 9) with back stiffness. In 51 games with Tampa Bay this year, the Oklahoma State alum is batting .220 with 9 HR and 35 RBI. The former Astro and Oriole has slugged as many as 27 homers in a season (2010) and owns a .344 career OBP and .489 SLG.

The series finale between the Durham Bulls and Buffalo Bisons is Monday afternoon at 12:05pm. It will be the final day game at the DBAP this season and will be nationally televised on MLB Network. The Bulls welcome the Syracuse Chiefs for a four game set starting on Tuesday.
