
Rays Announce Training Camp Schedule

South Carolina Stingrays News Release
North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays, ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the NHL and the Hershey Bears of the AHL, announced today that the 16th season of hockey in the Low Country will begin Friday when training camp officially gets underway.
There is no workout scheduled on Friday, October 3 as the evening is reserved for meetings. On Saturday, October 4, the team takes the ice for their first official on-ice workout of training camp with a special practice held at the Carolina Ice Palace, located at 7665 Northwoods Blvd., from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. This practice, like all practices, is open to the general public and the media.
On Sunday, October 5, the Stingrays head to Anchorage, Alaska for the first week of training camp and preseason games against the Alaska Aces. The teams play on Wednesday, October 8 and Thursday, October 9 at 11:15 EST. Fans can listen to the games live through the Alaska Aces website at www.alaskaaces.com or at www.kfqd.com.
The team will return to Charleston on Saturday, October 11 and will resume practices at the Carolina Ice Palace Sunday at 10 a.m.

Sunday, October 5 Team departs for Anchorage, Alaska
Wednesday, October 8 Game 11:15 EST at Alaska
Thursday October 9 Game 11:15 EST at Alaska
Saturday, October 11 Team returns from Anchorage, Alaska
Sunday, October 12 Practice 10 a.m. at the Carolina Ice Palace
Monday, October 13 Practice 10:00 a.m. at the Carolina Ice Palace
Tuesday, October 14 Practice 10:00 a.m. at the Carolina Ice Palace
Wednesday, October 15 Practice 10:00 a.m. at the Carolina Ice Palace
Thursday, October 16 Practice 10:00 a.m. at the Carolina Ice Palace
All practices, except on Saturday, October 4, are subject to change.
Mark your Calendars - the Stingrays open up the 2008-09 season at home against the Augusta Lynx on Saturday, October 18. The game will be at the North Charleston Coliseum starting at 7:05 p.m.
