FRESNO, CALIF. - The Fresno Falcons announced today that the team has agreed to terms with goaltender Bryan Bridges for the 2008-09 season.

The 22-year-old goaltender enters his third season as a pro, after suiting up for the Central Hockey League's Colorado Eagles last season, and for his hometown Victoria Salmon Kings as a rookie in 2006-07. Bridges appeared in 16 games with Colorado last season, posting an 8-5-2 record to go along with a 3.47 goals-against average and an .893 save percentage.

Bridges played five years in the Western Hockey League with Kootenay and Seattle prior to turning pro, putting together an overall record of 107-77-16 with a 2.51 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage in 213 appearances. During the 2004-05 season with Seattle, he went 36-20-2, and his 1.79 goals-against average ranks as the fourth-best mark in a single season in WHL history. In addition, he posted 13 shutouts that season, a league single-season record.

"Bryan provides us with depth at the goaltending position," Falcons head coach and general manager Matt Thomas said. "As a third year pro, he gives us another reliable player that will give us a chance to win every night."

The Falcons open the 2008-09 season on the road, taking on the Stockton Thunder on Saturday, October 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Opening Night 2008 at Selland Arena is set for Friday, October 24, when the Falcons host their arch-rivals, the Bakersfield Condors, at 7:35 p.m. Season Ticket packages start at just $432, and are now available by calling the Falcons at (559) 485-7825.
