Rayjon Tucker Wins NBA G League Player of the Month

OSHKOSH, Wis - Guard Rayjon Tucker has been named the NBA G League Player of the Month for December, the league announced today. To culminate his month, Tucker earned an NBA Call-Up with the Utah Jazz on Dec. 26, 2019 and became the fourth Wisconsin Herd player in franchise history to make the jump from the G League to the NBA.

While leading the Herd to the best record in the Eastern Conference and its best start in franchise history, Tucker comprised averages of 28.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists, while shooting 51.1% from the field. He led the league in scoring average in December and scored 20 or more points in six of the seven games he played in. To cap the month, Tucker had four consecutive 30-point contests and scored at least 35 points in three of the four games.

For the season, Tucker started all 16 games he appeared in and averaged 23.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists on 49.4% shooting. He scored in double figures in 15 of the 16 games and totaled 12 20-point performances. Tucker still currently ranks in the top five in scoring average, total points and free throws made.

With the award, Tucker is the first Herd player to win Player of the Month honors this season.
