No Magic for Charge in Loss to Lakeland

LAKELAND, FL - The Canton Charge (13-7) were defeated by the Lakeland Magic (11-9), 129-113, at the RP Funding Center on Thursday night. The season series is even at one win each with the rubber match coming in Canton on January 22nd.

Lakeland tied a season-high for a Charge opponent with 19 made threes on 30 attempts (63%), with Josh Magette sinking 7-of-11 himself to net 31 points. B.J. Johnson poured in a game-high 35 points on 11-of-17 shooting and 5-of-7 from three point range with eight boards in 40 minutes. Vic Law added 21 points and eight rebounds for the Magic, who as a team also achieved a Charge opponent season-high for field goal percentage in a game by hitting 59% of their attempts tonight.

Levi Randolph led Canton with his second double-double in the last three games, totaling 27 points, 10 rebounds and three steals in 36 minutes. J.P. Macura scored 23 points with three steals in 33 minutes. Tyler Cook added 19 points and nine boards in 23 minutes. Canton tied a season low with only 11 turnovers surrendered on the night and their reserves outscored the Magic bench, 48-24. The Charge are now 0-3 lifetime in games played at the RP Funding Center.
