COMSTOCK PARK - In his second start for the Dragons, Josh Ravin combined with Jeremy Host to shutout the Whitecaps, 6-0. It was the fourth time this season that West Michigan has been shutout.

Ravin threw 5.1 innings and allowed just three hits with a walk, four strikeouts and two hit batsmen. Jeremy Horst pitched the final 3.2 innings to pick up his second save of the year. Horst surrendered just two hits.

For the second day in a row, Dayton took a multi-run lead in the first inning, 2-0. The Dragons collected three consecutive singles to start the game off Alfredo Figaro. Brandon Waring had an RBI hit and Logan Parker drove in the second run of the first on an RBI.

Figaro took the loss to fall to 6-2, but pitched seven innings and allowed four runs (3 ER) on nine hits with no walks.

The 11 hits by Dayton matched the most allowed by the Whitecaps this season.

Daniel Perales went 3-for-4 for the Dragons with a double and two RBI. Justin Reed and Michael McKennon each had two hits for Dayton, which earned a 2-2 split in the weekend series.

With the loss, the Whitecaps are in danger of falling out of first place, pending the outcome of Lansing's game Monday evening against South Bend.
