Ravelo, Barons Snap Losing Skid with 7-2 Win over Lookouts

Birmingham, AL - The Birmingham Barons snapped their season-high four-game losing streak with a 7-2 win over the Chattanooga Lookouts Sunday in front of fans at AT&T Field.

The Lookouts took an early 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI single by Brian Cavazos-Galvez off of Barons starter Scott Snodgress.

The red-hot Micah Johnson would tie the game at 1-1 in the third on an RBI single of his own.

The team's would trade zeroes over the next three innings before a four-run seventh gave the Barons a commanding 5-1 lead. Rangel Ravelo led off the inning with his second double of the afternoon and scored two batters later on a two-run double by Michael Earley. Early would score on the next pitch as Miguel Gonzalez made it back-to-back doubles against reliever Juan Gonzalez. Johnson would cap the scoring with an RBI groundout to score Gonzalez.

Ravelo added two insurance runs in the eight with a two-run double to center, his third double of the afternoon giving the Barons a 7-2 advantage. Ravelo became the first Baron to have three doubles in a game since Trayce Thompson on June 24th, 2012 against Huntsville. The game was called in the middle of the eighth due to rain.

Michael Earley registered his first three-hit game of the season, going 3-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI as the Barons improved to 11-13. Reliever Parker Frazier (1-1, 2.45) picked up the win allowing a run on two hits over 2.1 IP.

The Barons will look to win the series finale Monday night as RHP Terry Doyle (2-2, 6.00) takes the hill against RHP Garrett Gould (0-4, 8.31). First pitch is scheduled for a 6:15 PM CDT.
