Beloit Sky Carp News Release

GRAND CHUTE-The Sky Carp couldn't overcome a 5-0 deficit and fell 5-3 to the Timber Rattlers Sunday afternoon.

The Rattlers took five of six in the series from the Sky Carp and are in sole possession of first place with the first half now over halfway complete.

The Sky Carp gave up a pair of runs in the second and three more in the fifth, all of which came against starting pitcher Alex Williams.

Josh Zamora continued his recent hot streak by getting the Sky Carp back into the game with a three-run homer in the sixth inning to close the gap to 5-3.

Although the Sky Carp bullpen was once again flawless in three innings, the team's offense couldn't generate any more threats down the stretch.

GAME NOTABLES

Zamora homered for the third time in the series, and now carries a team-best .903 OPS.

The Sky Carp is now a season-high 6.5 games out of first place.
