Rattlers Rookies Honored
June 27, 2007 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Arizona Rattlers News Release
PHOENIX - A pair Rattlers rookies were honored on Wednesday for being among the Arena Football League's finest first-year players. DB Keyuo Craver and WR Trandon Harvey were each named to the AFL's All-Rookie Team - a deserving award considering the pair's successful transition to the indoor game.
Craver quickly earned a reputation as one of the league's hardest hitters. His 113.0 total tackles and 97 solo tackles led all AFL rookies and his 14 passes defensed and four forced fumbles were second among all first-year players. Craver's statistics also set new team highs in total tackles, solo tackles and assisted tackles (32). In addition, he was also one of two Rattlers to start every game this season.
Harvey began the season returning kicks, but quickly became Sherdrick Bonner's top target. His team-leading 101 receptions and 1,412 receiving yards both ranked second among all AFL rookies, while his team-high 30 receiving touchdowns was tops among all first-year players. Harvey's 204 points scored this season also led the Rattlers and placed second among his fellow first-year peers.
Craver and Harvey are the first Rattlers to be named to the All-Rookie Team since OL/DL Bryan Henderson in 2003. Overall, Arizona has had five players named to the All-Rookie Team since the honor began in 1998, including OL/DL Wendall Gaines, who was named to the team in 2000.
