Storm Will Host Columbus in Wild Card Round

Tampa - With a 9-2 finish on the 2007 AFL season the Tampa Bay Storm locked up the third seed in the National Conference and a home game in the Wild Card Round against the Columbus Destroyers on Saturday, June 30. Kickoff at the St. Pete Times Forum is set for 12:00 p.m. EST

ESPN (Mark Jones and Merrill Hoge) will televise the game and AM 620 WDAE (Jack Harris and Jason Dixon) will air the game live. The Tampa Bay Storm (9-7), the third seed in the National Conference, will enter postseason play for the 20th time in 21 seasons. The Storm return to the playoffs after its lone absence in 2006 after ending the season 7-9.

Twelve of the AFL's 19 teams advance to the playoffs, six from each conference. The league's four division winners earn the top two seeds in each conference and first-round byes. ArenaBowl XXI will be played on Sunday, July 29, in New Orleans.
