Arizona Rattlers News Release

Phoenix, AZ - The Arizona Rattlers were awarded FB/LB Phil Glover (6-0, 245, Utah) off of waivers, the club announced today. Glover was waived by Las Vegas on Monday. Arizona also placed FB/LB James Williams, FB/LB A.J. Novak, and WR/DB Randy Gatewood on Injured Reserve. All three are expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Glover played in two games for the Gladiators this season, making 3.5 tackles with a tackle for loss. Glover was a member of the Toronto Phantoms in 2002, appearing in 11 games and recording ten tackles, four tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. He also rushed for 80 yards and three touchdowns. Originally drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the seventh round of the 1999 NFL Draft, Glover was a member of the Titans Super Bowl team that lost to the St. Louis Rams.

James Williams ruptured his left Achilles during the first quarter of Saturday's win over Los Angeles, while A.J. Novak suffered a partial tear of his left MCL in the second quarter on Saturday. Randy Gatewood broke his right wrist trying to make a tackle in the fourth quarter against the Avengers.

The Rattlers finish up the home half of their regular season schedule this Sunday when they take on their hated rivals, the San Jose SaberCats. Tickets are available by calling 602-514-TDTD. For more information, log on to www.AZRattlers.com.
