
Sedrick Robinson named U.S. Army Ironman of the Week

COLUMBUS, OH â Columbus Destroyers wide receiver/defensive back Sedrick Robinson was named U.S. Army Ironman of the Week by the Arena Football League for week thirteen of the regular season, it was announced today.
Robinson played a vital role in the Destroyers' 60-52 victory over the Carolina Cobras last Saturday night at the Charlotte Coliseum, finishing the contest with a game-high six catches for 152 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for a touchdown and passing for a score.
Robinson also excelled on defense and special teams play, igniting the Destroyers' return game with six kick returns for 108 yards for a total of 272 all-purpose yards in the game. Defensively, Robinson registered two solo tackles.
On the season, Robinson is the Destroyers' second-leading receiver, having recorded 50 catches for 712 yards and 12 touchdowns. In addition, he has returned 49 kickoffs for 1,016 and two touchdowns, giving him a team-high 1,762 all-purpose yards this season (6th in AFL).
A three-year veteran of the Arena Football League, this is the fifth time Robinson has garnered an AFL weekly award and second time this season that a Destroyers player has been honored by the league.
Along with Robinson, other players receiving league recognition for their play in week thirteen were San Jose SaberCats quarterback Mark Grieb, who was named Baby Ruth Real Deal Offensive Player of the Week and New York Dragons defensive specialist Corey Johnson, who was named ADT Defensive Player of the Week.
Robinson and the Destroyers return home on Sunday, May 9 to take on the Georgia Force at Nationwide Arena. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. (ET). The game can be heard live on WAZU 107.1 FM "The Big Wazoo" with Marty Bannister and Greg Frey calling all the action. Coverage begins at 2:30 p.m.
