River City Rascals News Release
Loves Park, Ill. - River City trailed 9-0 in the sixth before registering their first hit en-route to a 14-5 loss Wednesday afternoon against the Rockford RiverHawks.
A three-run homerun in the third inning from Michael Hur off starter Nick Kennedy pushed the score to 5-0. Four unearned runs scored on two Rascal errors to stretch the deficit to 9-0.
Jason Patton singled in the sixth but the Rascals left two runners on in the frame before leaving the bases loaded in the seventh. The score was 12-0 before River City scored four runs in the eighth and plated another in the ninth after Rockford scored two more in their eighth for the final score of 14-5.
River City is back in action Thursday at T.R. Hughes Ballpark when the Florence Freedom come to town for a three-game series that starts at 7:05.
