Raptors 905 (3-5), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors defeated Birmingham Squadron (2-5) 112-98 Saturday evening. Omari Moore led the 905 with a career-high 22 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Squadron guard Izaiah Brockington contributed 16 points, nine rebounds, and two steals in the loss.
The Squadron opened the ball game strong, outscoring the 905 33-22 behind seven made three-point shots. The 905 quickly found their rhythm in the second, opening the frame on a 7-2 run. The visitors continued to pour in the points as they outscored the home team 39-21 going into the break. The 905 dished out a season-high 18 assists in the first half.
Raptors 905 continued to build off their momentum in the third quarter, putting up 30 points while holding the Squadron to 19. The two teams went back-and-forth in the final frame as Birmingham mounted their comeback bid, however, the 905's lead proved insurmountable.
Jaysean Paige paced the 905 in their victory putting up 20 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Birmingham received complementary scoring from Malcolm Hill's 19 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals in the matchup.
The two teams meet again Monday, for a matinee scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
