Rapids Visit Philadelphia Union For Match On Friday

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Monday, July 25, 2011) - The Colorado Rapids (7-6-10, 31 points) travel to Chester, Penn. this week to take on Philadelphia Union at PPL Park on Friday, July 29 at 5:30 p.m. MT, live on Fox Soccer Channel. The Rapids just completed a busy week, using a Sanna Nyassi hat trick to defeat the New York Red Bulls 4-1 on Wednesday, July 20, and playing to a 2-2 tie with the New England Revolution on Saturday, July 23.

Philadelphia Union (8-4-7, 31 points) sit atop the Eastern Conference standings and haven't played a regular season match since July 17, a 3-0 victory over New England. Since then, they played a pair of international friendlies, first topping English side Everton 1-0 before falling 2-1 to Real Madrid.

Colorado forward Omar Cummings will make a stop in New York to participate in the 2011 MLS All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 27 at 6:30 p.m. MT before joining the Rapids in Philadelphia. Cummings, who has two goals and five assists this season despite missing time due to an ankle injury, will join the All-Stars for the match against Manchester United, which will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and TeleFutura.
