The Colorado Rapids' (5-3-1, 16 points) two-game winning streak came to an end Wednesday night with a 3-1 loss against Sporting Kansas City (6-2-2, 20 points) at Children's Mercy Park. Daniel Salloi scored twice for Sporting in the first half before Felipe Hernandez made it 3-0 in the 64th minute. Colorado pulled one back when Keegan Rosenberry put away Lalas Abubakar's header off the crossbar. Andre Shinyashiki appeared to pull the Rapids within one but his goal was disallowed for offside. The Rapids will look to remain among the top spots in the Western Conference as they host Seattle Sounders FC on the Fourth of July for their next match.

The Rapids have the weekend off before facing the top of the West in Seattle Sounders FC on July 4 at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park.
