Player News - Inter Miami have limped through a difficult spring with several players missing in action. DP midfielder Rodolfo Pizarro missed this past Saturday's match against DC United through injury while DP striker Gonzalo Higuaín was left back in Florida to "work on his fitness," per a club spokesperson. Additionally, Miami will be without two starters on Friday night, as both Shawcross and Gregore were sent off against DC United and will be suspended.
Take a look at Miami's full roster here.
Team Form
It's been a sluggish start to life under Neville, with Miami mired in 11th place in the East through nine matches. The last few weeks in particular have been tough-Miami have lost three straight and have not scored a single goal across those games. Former Lion Brek Shea scored Inter Miami's last goal in the 85th minute against FC Cincinnati all the way back on May 16.
Head-to-Head
Orlando City lost four regular season matches all of last season, but two of them came down in Fort Lauderdale. Inter Miami, clearly energized to play their rivals, took six points from two games at DRV PNK Stadium in 2020. Orlando City won the other two matches, the first in the MLS is Back Tournament opener and the second at Exploria Stadium, both by 2-1 scorelines. Daryl Dike and Nani both scored twice against Miami last season.
Rasmussen University Fact
Despite a difficult inaugural year, Inter Miami only took three clean sheet losses in 2020. They have already been shut out in a loss four times in 20.
