Ottawa Voyageurs News Release

After a two hour rain delay at Rapidz Stadium, game two of the three game series got underway. Game two featured some great pitching especially by Ottawa's Fraser Robinson who allowed only two earned runs in eight innings for the 7-4 win for the Rapidz. With Saturday's win, Ottawa extended their win streak to two games and clinched the series win for the first time this season.

The Rapidz began the scoring in the bottom of the second, with Jereme Milons hitting his fifth homerun of the season for an early 1-0 lead.

The visiting Jackals scored two runs of their own in the fourth, thanks to consecutive singles by Bryant Nelson, Juan Tejeda and Chris Kelly for a 2-1 lead after four innings.

The Rapidz regained their lead after an explosive seventh inning resulting in four runs. Nate Hall and Jose de los Santos both singled and scored and Jabe Bergeron hit a two-run homerun to cap of the inning, putting the Rapidz on top 6-2.

The Jackals added two runs and the Rapidz add one in the eighth for the 7-4 win. Jackals starter Tom Atlee (1-2) is credited with the loss pitching 6.2 innings, allowing six runs (all earned) on twelve hits, with no walks and three strikeouts. Fraser Robinson (3-5) earned the win for the Rapidz pitching a solid 8.0 innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on 13 hits, with zero walks and six strikeouts. Reid Price came in to earn his second save of the season for the Rapidz in the win.

The final game of the three-game series goes Sunday, July 27 at 1:05 with Noel Baca III (1-7, 4.11) for the Rapidz against Jorge Acosta (0-1, 2.63) for the Jackals. Tomorrow will also be "B.A.R.K at the Ballpark" presented by Bark and Fitz, where all fans are encouraged to bring their dogs to the park. The first 300 dogs in the stadium will receive a free doggie bag, there will be on field fly-ball demonstrations and a parade of dogs will be available for adoption from B.A.R.K Kids.
