Ottawa 7, New Jersey 4

Ottawa broke open a 2-2 game with four runs in the seventh inning and went on to defeat New Jersey 7-4. Last week's Player of the Week, 1B Jabe Bergeron belted his eighth homer of the year, drove in two runs, and scored a pair as part of a 4-for-4 night. LF Jereme Milons also went deep and scored two runs in the contest. 3B Jake Daubert had two hits and an RBI as did CF Pete Pirman. Rapidz starter Fraser Robinson went eight innings and allowed two earned runs on eight hits to get the win and up his mark to 3-5 on the year. Tom Atlee went 6 2/3 innings for New Jersey but was touched up for six runs on twelve hits, dropping his record to 1-2.

Brockton 5, Sussex 4

Brockton used three early runs to build a 5-1 lead over Sussex and withstood a late rally to down the Skyhawks 5-4. Rox starter Wayne Lundgren allowed just two runs in 8 1/3 innings pitched. He surrendered seven hits and fanned six to improve to 6-2. Brockton closer Jerry Dunn came on to get the final two outs but Sussex scored three runs on three hits to shrink the Rox lead to 5-4. With the tying run at third base, Dunn struck out RF Jorge Moreno to end it and record his 15th save. Rox LF Dennis Abreu extended his hitting streak to 25 games with a single in the fourth inning. 1B Matt Weston hit his 11th homer of the season for Sussex in the loss.

Worcester 4, Nashua 1

Worcester starter Tom Cochran improved to a perfect 10-0 as he went seven solid innings and struck out four to lead the Tornadoes past Nashua 4-1. Cochran allowed one run on two hits in the top of the first inning before settling in. The run came when Nashua CF Vinny Pennell stole home as Cochran was making a pickoff attempt at first base. DH Francisco Caraballo answered for the Tornadoes in the bottom of the first with a three-run blast over the center field wall that put Worcester in front 3-1. RF Scott Grimes went 3-for-4 on the night with a run scored, and 1B Chris Colabello had two hits and scored twice. Jason Paul went eight innings for the Pride and gave up four earned runs on nine hits. He took the loss and dropped to 3-2. Eddie Pena worked the eighth and ninth innings for his third save of the year.

Atlantic City 8, Quebec 2

Atlantic City grabbed an early 2-0 lead and behind seven solid innings from Rory Shortell, defeated Quebec 8-2. The Surf pounded out 17 hits with seven players having multi-hit games. Leading 5-2 in the bottom of the seventh, RF Josh Burrus hit a two-run homer to put the game out of reach. It was his eighth long ball of the year. Shortell danced around nine hits and allowed just two earned runs to lift his record to 4-2. Atlantic City SS Anthony Granato, LF Joe Burke and Burrus each had three hits in the game. Quebec starter Chris Begg dropped to 0-2 as he was tagged for five runs in 4 2/3 innings.
