Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK - One night after launching a grand slam that powered Round Rock to a win over one of the Pacific Coast League's top teams, Cody Ransom again came through for the Express.

Ransom blasted his fourth home run in three games to spark a seven-run sixth inning Thursday that helped Round Rock hand Colorado Springs an 8-3 loss at The Dell Diamond. Ransom, who blasted two homers and collected five RBI on Wednesday and finished 2-for-4 Thursday, has driven in 12 runs in his last five games.

Six Express players racked up multiple hits, including Mark Saccomanno, who doubled and homered, and Danny Klassen, who picked up his 16th double. Left-hander Troy Patton allowed two runs on four hits, three walks and a strikeout over seven innings for his third straight home win.

Trailing the Sky Sox 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Round Rock put two aboard behind singles from Brooks Conrad and Klassen. Ransom then stepped in and cranked a 1-1 delivery from Marc Kaiser into the Home Run Porch beyond left field, putting the Express ahead 4-2.

Saccomanno followed up with his 17th home run and Humberto Quintero tripled, forcing Kaiser from the game. Patton worked a one-out walk against reliever Tim Harikkala and Quintero made it 6-2 on a Josh Anderson fielder's choice.

Tim Raines drove in the sixth run of the inning with a sharp single up the middle and Danny Klassen roped an RBI-double to left field before Ransom ended the onslaught with a pop-out to the catcher.

The two teams meet for the third game of the series at The Dell Diamond on Friday at 7:05 p.m. The game can be heard live on 1530 AM, 1260 AM and at www.roundrockexpress.com.
