Rankin to Rochester

(Toledo, OH) - The Toledo Walleye and head Coach Nick Vitucci announced today that forward Evan Rankin has signed a PTO (player tryout agreement) with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. Toledo also activated forward Brain Matte (MATT) from injured reserve today.

Rankin leads Toledo in scoring this season with 18 points (10g, 8a). Evan has scored 65 goals in his career while playing in a Walleye uniform. Rankin has also appeared in 14 games over the past two seasons in the AHL between Grand Rapids and Manitoba. The Americans are home both tonight and tomorrow against Albany and Hamilton.

The Toledo Walleye play all of their home games at the Huntington Center in downtown Toledo. The Walleye are the proud ECHL affiliate of the 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks and the Detroit Red Wings.
