Boychuk Called up to AHL Rochester

Forward Riley Boychuk has been reassigned to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League by the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League.

Boychuk earned two points (one goal, one assist) in four games with Gwinnett after he was assigned to the Gladiators on November 16th. He also recorded 12 penalty minutes with Gwinnett this season.

The Abbotsford, BC native began the season with the Americans and posted one assist in nine AHL games. In his first professional season this year, Boychuk was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the 7th round, #208 overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

He recorded 35 points (18 goals, 17 assists) in 60 games last season with the Portland Winterhawks of the western Hockey League. He tallied 83 points (39 goals, 44 assists) in 194 career junior games with Portland.

The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres and the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
