Complete Game Notes

IN JUST A FEW HOURS...

The Elmira Jackals square off against the Trenton Titans on Black Friday at First Arena, with the puck dropping at 7:35 p.m. The Jackals come off of a dramatic shootout win over the Kalamazoo Wings on Saturday, 3-2, while the Titans enter tonight's contest on a winning note as well, having knocked off the Wheeling Nailers on Sunday, 3-2.

PENALTY SHOT FOILED

Kalamazoo's Brandon Svendsen had a penalty-shot attempt in overtime on Saturday but was denied by the left pad of Jackals goaltender Brian Stewart. The penalty shot was the first against the Jackals since Aaron Lewadniuk attempted one for Ontario on Feb. 11, 2011. Elmira has not allowed a penalty-shot goal since Feb. 16, 2008, when Jason Deitch scored for Cincinnati back in the Jackals' first ECHL season.

STEWART STANDS TALL

Brian Stewart was nearly perfect in Elmira's victory on Saturday, making 34 saves on 36 shots in regulation and overtime and turning away all five K-Wings bids in the shootout. Stewart is seventh in the ECHL with a .923 save percentage. Last season, the Burnaby, British Columbia native led the ECHL with a save percentage of .927.
