Elmira Jackals News Release

The Elmira Jackals announced on Friday that they have been assigned forward Kevin King by their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch. The Jackals have also loaned defenseman Matt Campanale to their AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

King, a 6'1", 200-pound left wing, has played in five games with the Crunch in 2011-2012, his rookie campaign. The Calgary, Alberta native played five seasons from 2006-2011 with the WHL's Kootenay Ice, helping the team capture the WHL championship and earn a spot in the Memorial Cup this past season. King compiled 95 goals and 132 assists for 227 points in 335 career games with the Ice.

Campanale has an assist in two games with the Jackals this season. He was acquired by Elmira from Bakersfield on Nov. 11 in exchange for future considerations.

Elmira also announced on Friday that it has placed forward Alec Kirschner on waivers.
