Brandon Robinson scored his first goal of the season for the Kitchener Rangers in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Owen Sound Attack on Friday. Mike Davies and Darby Llewellyn also scored for the Rangers, who have not lost a game in regulation since October 11.

Owen Sound attacked early, opening the scoring 2:15 into the first period. Rookie centre Keenan Reynolds carried the puck over the Rangers' blueline and lifted a high shot over the glove of netminder Matthew Greenfield. The goal was the first of Reynolds' Ontario Hockey League career, assisted by Kevin Hancock and Tyler MacArthur.

The Attacked added to their lead near the seven minute mark, when Ethan Szypula slid a shot by the skate of Greenfield to pot his seventh of the year. Assists on the play were credited to Waterloo native and team scoring leader Kyle Platzer, and import forward Petrus Palmu.

Rearguard Thomas Schemitsch added one more for the Attack before the intermission. With Owen Sound's goalie on the bench on a delayed penalty call, Greenfield made the initial save under pressure, but Schemitsch was at the crease to pop the puck over the goalie's left pad. His fifth of the year was assisted by Chris Bigras and Jeffery Gilligan.

The Attack led shots on goal 15-13 in the opening 20 minutes of play.

Facing a three-goal deficit to open the second period, Kitchener turned up its offence in middle frame. Sophomore Mike Davies put the Rangers on the board just past the six minute mark, snapping a shot past the glove of Jack Flinn to net his third of the season. The goal was the Thorold, ON native's second in as many games, and was set up by rearguard Max Iafrate, who has recorded a helper in five straight games. Dmitrii Sergeev also picked up an assist on the play, his third point in two games.

Kitchener continued to chip away at Owen Sound's lead, adding a second goal less than 90 seconds later. Davies gained the puck behind the Attack net, moving a pass in front for winger Brandon Robinson, who banked it off the skate of a defenceman in front and into the net. The former Battalion forward's first of the season was also assisted by blueliner Frank Hora.

The Rangers' third goal in less than two minutes erased their deficit, evening the score at 3-3. Darby Llewellyn beat Flinn to tally his second goal in his last three outings. Overage pivot Curtis Meighan earned the lone helper on the Ann Arbor, MI native's third goal of the year.

Kitchener out-shot Owen Sound 10-3 in the second period.

Neither team could break the deadlock in the third period, sending the contest into overtime. Through 60 minutes of regulation, the Attack led shots on goal 31-30.

The game was decided in a shootout, where Flinn stopped two Rangers skaters and Schemitsch and Platzer scored to secure a 4-3 Owen Sound win. With the victory, the Attack lead the season series two games to one.
