Niagara IceDogs News Release

The Niagara IceDogs lost their third straight game Friday night, when they dropped a 6-2 decision to the North Bay Battalion at the Meridian Centre.

Zach Bratina opened the scoring for the Battalion with a goal 6:18 into the opening frame. Anthony DiFruscia answered for the IceDogs with his fourth goal of the season when he converted a nice pass from Carter Verhaeghe. A late goal from Nick Paul beat Stephen Dhillon, who made 32 saves in his first OHL start, to give the Battalion a 2-1 lead after one period.

Four straight goals from Jared Steege, David Sherman and Alex Henriksson, who scored twice, put the game out of reach. Hayden McCool scored his second goal in as many games but it was too little too late for the IceDogs.

Rookie forward Christopher Paquette got his first OHL point, an assist, on McCool's third period goal.

The IceDogs host the Ottawa 67's Oct. 30 at the Meridian Centre, as they look to end this losing streak.
