Belleville Bulls News Release

SARNIA, ON - The Belleville Bulls and the Sarnia Sting will wrap up a home-and-home series at the RBC Centre Friday night. The two clubs faced off in a down to the wire match up last weekend in the friendly city that saw the Bulls pull ahead with just 29 seconds remaining in regulation. The Bee's will be looking for revenge in Belleville's only trip to Sarnia this season.

Goals by Brandon Saigeon, David Tomasek, who jumped back to the blue line due to the absence of some key Bulls defenders and Dallas Stars prospect Remi Elie pushed Belleville to victory. The Sting outshot the Bulls 52-33 as rookie netminder Connor Hicks made 50 saves in his first win of the young season.

Newly acquired over-ager Brett Welychka made his debut in a Bulls uniform and although he didn't register a point, he was a key part of the success. "He is going to be a tremendous addition to our program both on and off the ice with his experiences and he will make everybody better around him." Head Coach George Burnett said following the win on Sunday afternoon.

After missing two games due to a hand injury, defenceman Stephen Harper will be back in the line up to help his club search for their third straight win.

The Sarnia sting, led by winger Nikita Korostelev, currently sit 8th in a fully loaded Western Conference. Korostelev has registered 7 goals and 7 helpers in 10 games played thus far. While they close out a home-and-home with the Bulls, they begin back-to-back games this weekend as the Ottawa 67's invade the RBC Centre on Saturday night. Rookie Pavel Zacha has also played big role so far this season, putting up 4 goals and adding 6 assists in 10 games played.

Friday night will be a rematch between two of the top five draft picks in the 2014 OHL priority selection. Sarnia's Jakob Chychrun, who has posted 7 points in 10 games, was the top pick in the draft while Belleville's Brandon Saigeon, who has posted 4 points in 10 games, was selected 4th overall.

Game time is 7:05pm, you can get full play-by-play coverage on 800 CJBQ with Tim Durkin starting at 6:50pm. Remember to follow along on Twitter (@OHLBulls) for all game updates.
