JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced a series of transactions that impact their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's game against the Chattanooga Lookouts at Bragan Field at 7:05 p.m.

Right-handed relief pitcher Matt Ramsey was acquired by the Marlins from the Tampa Bay Rays for the 32nd, 62nd, and 92nd, International Bonus Pool Slots and assigned to Double-A Jacksonville.

Ramsey has spent all of the 2014 season in the Southern League, pitching for the Rays' Double-A Montgomery Biscuits. With Montgomery, Ramsey was 3-0 with a 1.07 ERA in 24 relief appearances with six saves. Ramsey logged 33 and two-thirds innings, striking out twice as many batters (46) as he walked (23).

Ramsey was originally selected by the Rays in in the 19th round of the 2011 draft out of the University of Tennessee.

In a corresponding move, right-handed relief pitcher Matt Montgomery was released by the Marlins organization. Montgomery pitched in 11 games and made three starts for the Suns, going 1-1 with a 4.45 ERA in 28 and a third innings pitched. He also saw time with Triple-A New Orleans and High-A Jupiter, and his combined numbers this season were: 2-5 with a 4.75 ERA in 16 appearances and six starts.

The Suns and Lookouts will be back at it on Tuesday, with first pitch of the series finale set for 7:05 p.m. ET. The Suns will send out right-hander Jose Urena (6-6, 4.16) while the Lookouts will counter with right-hander Raydel Sanchez (1-5, 6.06).
