MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (45-45/10-10) led after seven innings and Taylor Motter hit two home runs, but the Mississippi Braves (51-38/12-8) used a three-run eighth to defeat the Biscuits 7-4 on Tuesday night at Riverwalk Stadium.

Motter entered the game with only two hits in his last 24 at-bats, but like the Biscuits' offense, he seemed to have things back on track. His first home run came with the bases empty in the first inning. After fouling out in the third inning, Motter came to the plate again to lead off the sixth. His second home run of the game and seventh of the year broke a 3-3 tie.

The Braves entered the eighth inning trailing 4-3. They quickly tied the game with a home run from Daniel Castro who finished with five hits, a triple shy of the cycle. Barrett Kleinknecht singled to bring up Mycal Jones who hit a triple to give the Braves a 5-4 lead. Jose Peraza followed with a double to bring in Jones. The Braves added one more run with a solo home run by Cedric Hunter in the ninth.

A combined six runs were scored in the first three innings. After Motter's first home run, the Braves quickly answered with two runs in the second. Back-to-back doubles by Kes Carter and Jake DePew in the bottom of the second allowed the Biscuits to tie the game at two. Braves took a 3-2 lead in the third, but the game was tied again in the bottom half of the inning when Cameron Seitzer drove in Ryan Brett with a double.

The Biscuits will have their first off day of the second half on Wednesday before opening a five-game series with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos on Thursday. RH Dylan Floro will be on the mound for the Biscuits while the Wahoos will throw RH Daniel Corcino.
