Hagerstown, MD - The Hagerstown Suns (77-51/35-24) made it 11 consecutive wins over the Delmarva Shorebirds (50-78/22-37) with an 8-5 victory at Municipal Stadium on Thursday Night.
Caleb Ramsey went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead the Suns offense while Billy Burns went 2-for-3 with a double, RBI and three runs scored. Starter Taylor Jordan (3-2) won his third consecutive start with a five inning effort, allowing one run on five hits, no walks and four strike outs. L.J. Hollins recorded the final four outs of the game to secure his first professional save.
Shorebirds' starting pitcher Juan Guzman suffered the loss in four innings of work. First baseman Connor Narron homered and designated hitter Michael Ohlman went 1-for-4 with a two-run double in a losing effort.
The Suns will game two of the series with Delmarva on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. when RHP Brian Rauh (2-2, 4.40) takes the mound against the Shorebirds' RHP Miguel Chalas (9-7, 5.07).
