
All-Star Haddow, Peterson Promoted to Winston-Salem

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (Aug. 23, 2012) - The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, have promoted outfielder Mark Haddow and left-handed relief pitcher Max Peterson to the Class A- Advanced Winston-Salem Dash. It's the first promotion for Haddow, who was named a South Atlantic League Mid-Season All-Star, to Winston- Salem. In a corresponding move, the Intimidators receive outfielder Andrew Douglas from Advanced Rookie Bristol.
Haddow, 24, is batting .306 (120-392) with seven home runs and a team- leading 57 RBI in 108 games with Kannapolis in his first full season of pro ball. His average ranks ninth in the SAL. Over the first half of the season, Haddow hit .332 to lead the Intimidators offense and be named one of four Kannapolis All-Stars. The White Sox selected him in the 24th round of the June 2011 draft out of UCSB where he hit .356 with six home runs and 41 RBI to rank among Big West leaders in virtually all offensive categories as a senior. Last season, Haddow hit .312 in 70 games with Advanced Rookie Great Falls.
Peterson, 24, earns his second promotion to Class A-Advanced and first as a member of the White Sox organization. The left-hander spent the last three seasons in the Athletics organization, appearing in seven games with High-A Stockton last season. Peterson is 1-1 with a 1.33 ERA (3 ER/20.1) in 13 relief appearances with Kannapolis after the White Sox signed him out of the independent Frontier League in July.
Douglas returns to the Intimidators after spending the last 12 games with Advanced Rookie Bristol. In 19 games with Kannapolis this season, he is batting .163 (8-49).
