San Antonio Rampage News Release

PEORIA, Ill. -- The San Antonio Rampage dominated through 57 minutes and were perfect on the power-play (2-2) tallying a win in the shootout against the Peoria Rivermen at the Carver Arena Tuesday night. David LeNeveu had a season-high 50 saves and was awarded with the first star as the Rampage were outshout 53-20.

The Rampage grabbed the lead with less than three minutes left in the opening period as Pavel Brendl tallied a power-play goal. Matt Jones and Eric Chouinard were credited with assists on Brendl's eighth power-play goal of the season.

Eric Chouinard extended the Rampage lead with an early second period goal at 1:03 as Jeff Taffe and Tim Jackman tallied assists on the only full strength goal for the Rampage. About eight minutes later Jackman gave the Rampage their biggest lead of the night 3-0 as he tallied the Rampage's second power-play goal. Layne Ulmer and Steve Gainey helped Jackman collect his seventh goal of the season.

Brendl and Taffe are both on four-game pointstreaks as Brendl has tallied four points (3-1=4) and Taffe five points (2-3=5).

Peoria jumped back into the game late as Trent Whitfield tallied the Rivermen's first goal with 12 seconds left in the second period. Mike Glumac and Jon DiSalvatore each tallied goals in the closing period to tie the game and force it into overtime and eventually a shootout.

Mike Bishai, Chouinard, Jackman, Ulmer and Brendl each took a shot against Rivermen goaltender Reinhard Divis as Bishai and Jackman were the only ones to get the puck past Divis but was enough to tally the Rampage's 16th win.

The Rampage end their 10-game road trip against the Milwaukee Admirals at 7 p.m. on Thursday night at the Bradley Center.
