Connecticut Whale News Release
The Wolf Pack swept three Atlantic Division games last weekend, extending their winning streak to a season-high four straight. The Pack outlasted the Albany River Rats, 3-1, in Albany on Friday night, shut out Providence 4-0 at home on Saturday evening, and then squeaked by first-place Portland in Portland Sunday by a score of 4-3. Robert Gherson tended goal in each of the three games and stopped 83 out of 87 shots, and registered his first AHL shutout with 18 saves in Saturday's game. Thomas Pöck continued his excellent offensive play, striking for six points (2-4-6) on the week.
This week:
The Wolf Pack play four games in five days. It starts Wednesday in Bridgeport (7:35 faceoff), as the Pack try to maintain their perfect record (6-0-0-0) in the GEICO Connecticut Cup series against the Sound Tigers. The Wolf Pack host Springfield Friday (7:00) on Guida's Family Value Night, and then Saturday's home game against Albany (7:00) is Guaranteed Win Night. The Pack finish off the busy week with their final regular-season visit to Lowell on Sunday (4:05).
Tuesday, February 21 - "Wolf Pack Confidential" at Little Mark's Big Barbecue on ESPN Radio 1410 The Wolf Pack's weekly hourlong live radio show originates from Little Mark's Big Barbecue, 279 West Main Street (Route 44) in Avon, from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Scheduled to join host Bob Crawford this week are Nigel Dawes and Colby Genoway. They will be taking questions from the live audience at Little Mark's (all are invited), and the show can be heard on ESPN Radio 1410 and on-line at www.hartfordwolfpack.com.
Wednesday, February 22 at Bridgeport (Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard),

* The Wolf Pack are 6-0-0-0 on the year against the Sound
Tigers, but Bridgeport has been one of the hottest teams in the league in
the last two months. Since December 21st, the Sound Tigers are 18-6-1-2 in
27 games.
* Bridgeport currently holds down third place in the East
Division, with a record of 29-24-3-2 for 63 points.
* Veteran Rob Collins is the Sound Tigers' leading scorer with
16-34-50 in 51 GP.

Friday, February 24 vs. Springfield at the Hartford Civic Center, 7:00 p.m.
* The Falcons (19-27-2-6, 46 pts.) have won two of their last
three and are currently sixth in the Atlantic Division, six points up on
Albany.
* Jason Jaspers leads Springfield in scoring, having rolled up
19-30-49 in 51 GP. He has 5-2-7 in five games against the Wolf Pack.
* The Wolf Pack are 3-1-1-0 in the season series against their
I-91 rivals, and the two clubs have split two meetings in Hartford.
* This is a Guida's Family Value Night. Family Value Night

Saturday, February 25 vs. Albany at the Hartford Civic Center, 7:00 p.m.
* The River Rats are 18-33-2-2 for 40 pts. and are mired in a
five-game losing streak (0-4-1-0).
* The Wolf Pack have won all four games played between
themselves and the River Rats this year, and are 2-0-0-0 at home in the
season series.
* Planet USA All-Star Aleksander Suglobov (21-21-42 in 46 GP)
is the top point-getter on the River Rats' roster.
* It's Guaranteed Win Night at the Hartford Civic Center. If
the Wolf Pack do not beat the Rats, then fans can redeem their ticket stub
at the Civic Center box office for a complimentary ticket to the Pack's home
game Wednesday, March 1st vs. Norfolk.

Sunday, February 26 at Lowell (Paul E. Tsongas Arena), 4:05 p.m.
* The Lock Monsters have won back-to-back games to climb to
22-27-4-5 for 53 points and to within eight points of a playoff spot in the
Atlantic.
* With 20-40-60 in 53 GP, Keith Aucoin has twice as many
points as any other Lock Monster and ranks ninth in the AHL in
point-scoring.
* The Pack are 2-3-0-1 in six games on the year against the
Lock Monsters and are 1-1-0-1 in three previous visits to Lowell, including
an 8-2 loss in their last trip January 27th.

Pack Tracks:
Wolf Pack Kids' Club Day has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 28th at the Hartford Civic Center. Doors will open at 4:00, and the event starts with a narrated Wolf Pack practice at 5:00. Kids' Club Day will also include an opportunity to meet the Wolf Pack players, and members will receive their player trading cards, plus other special gifts. All current members are invited to attend, and new members can register at the event and join in the fun. The Wolf Pack Kids' Club is presented by Brigham's Ice Cream.
To make way for Kids' Club Day, next week's Wolf Pack Confidential will move to Monday night, February 27th. The Hartford Wolf Pack "Pack Shop", located at 100 Allyn Street in downtown Hartford, is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, as well as two hours prior to and one hour after each and every Wolf Pack home game, including Saturday and Sundays. A full line of Wolf Pack merchandise is available, while a limited selection of items will still be available in the Civic Center Mall before games.
