WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have released defenseman Terry Virtue from his professional tryout contract, it was announced today by team CEO Jeff Barrett.

Virture, 35, appeared in four games with the Penguins, recording one assist, four penalty minutes and a minus-5 rating. His first game with the Penguins (Feb. 15 at Albany) was his 850th in the AHL.

The Penguins return to action Wednesday night in Syracuse, before traveling to Winnipeg with a two-game set against he Manitoba Moose. They finish up their nine-game road trip with a Sunday afternoon contest in Toronto at 5:00pm.
