Rampage training camp starts Sunday

SAN ANTONIO – Sept. 23, 2004 – The San Antonio Rampage, primary development club for the Florida Panthers, will open their training camp for the 2004-05 season on Sunday, Sept. 26 at the Ice Center at Northwoods. A total of 37 players will participate as the club prepares for their third season in the American Hockey League.

All practices at the Ice Center at Northwoods (17530 Henderson Pass) are free and open to the public.

Eight No. 1 NHL draft picks will partake in the three-week camp, including Jay Bouwmeester, Patrick DesRochers, Nathan Horton, Ty Jones, Scott Kelman, Lukas Krajicek, Petr Taticek and Stephen Weiss.

Seventeen players who have previously worn a Rampage uniform will participate, including Eric Beaudoin, Bouwmeester, Gregory Campbell, Brent Cullaton, Paul Healey, Greg Jacina, Ryan Jardine, Jones, Kelman, Krajicek, Grant McNeill, Josh Olson, Serge Payer, Travis Scott, Taticek, Victor Uchevatov and Weiss.

Subsequently, the Rampage will play four preseason games in a home-and-home series format against division and intrastate rival Houston Aeros. The Rampage will play their home games with a 7 p.m. face-off on Friday, Oct. 1 and Saturday, Oct. 9 at the Ice Center at Northwoods. Both home games will have free admission.

The Rampage open the regular season on Fri., Oct. 15 against the Houston Aeros at the SBC Center at 7 p.m. All regular season games can be heard on the Rampage's flagship station "The Ticket" 760 AM (subject to conflicts).
