Manchester Monarchs News Release

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, on Thursday announced the cancellation of the Kings-Phoenix Coyotes game on Saturday, October 23, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles. The game was one of three scheduled hockey games that day, as part of "Hockey Day in LA." The cancellation of this NHL game is the third 2004-05 regular season home game cancelled by the club this month. In addition, the Kings announced time changes for the remaining two games of "Hockey Day in LA" at STAPLES Center. The Monarchs-Utah Grizzlies game at STAPLES Center has been moved to 10:30 p.m. (from 4 p.m. Eastern). The Jr. Kings' Midget AAA squad's contest, meanwhile, will now begin at 5 p.m. against the Colorado Rampage as "Hockey Day in LA" has officially been changed to a double-header of hockey.

Individual tickets for the Monarchs-Grizzles game will go on sale on Saturday, September 25, at 10 a.m. at all Ticketmaster outlets (ticketmaster.com) or charge by phone by calling 213-480-3232. All tickets for the Monarchs-Grizzles game will also be valid for the Jr. Kings game. Ticket prices for the Monarchs-Grizzlies game are $47.50, $45.50, $35.50, $25.50 and $15.50.

The Monarchs have been the Kings' primary American Hockey League affiliate since the franchise began play during the 2001-02 season. They have compiled a 118-79-29-14 regular season record and have led the AHL in attendance in each of the last two seasons, including a franchise-record per-game average of 9,141 fans in 2003-04, which led all minor professional hockey teams in attendance this past season.

The Grizzlies became the Coyotes' primary AHL affiliate this past April. They are coached by former Kings forward Pat Conacher.
