SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - Hamilton Bulldogs forward Daniel Carr scored his team-leading 22nd goal of the season and forward Gabriel Dumont tallied for the second night in a row, but their offence wasn't enough as the 'Dogs (30-25-10-0) went on to fall 3-2 in overtime to the San Antonio Rampage (39-20-5-1) on Sunday afternoon at AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Carr scored his 22nd with an in-tight wrist shot to give the 'Dogs a 1-0 lead at 2:28 of the first period, with assists from forward Sven Andrighetto and defenceman Bryan Allen.
The Rampage tied the game 1-1 with 1:36 left in the opening period when forward Dany Heatley's point shot was tipped in front by forward Connor Brickley. Defenceman Shane O'Brien had a second assist.
The Bulldogs took a 2-1 lead at 7:17 of the middle frame when Dumont scored his 18th goal of the season on a shorthanded breakaway, unassisted.
Just 19 seconds later, Heatley swatted in a rebound on the power play to tie the game again, 2-2. Brickley and forward Rocco Grimaldi collected assists.
After a scoreless third period, San Antonio forward defenceman Dylan Olsen scored on a wrist shot at 6:11 of overtime to win it for the Rampage, 3-2. Forwards Bobby Butler and John McFarland had assists.
