San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO (Oct. 29, 2014) - The San Antonio Rampage will kick off a month-long Movember campaign when they host Movember Kickoff Night against the Rockford IceHogs on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.
To get the month started, Rampage fans will be able to register to participate in Movember and have their clean-shaven "before" photo taken on the concourse during the game. Anyone who registers to participate and/or makes a donation on-site at Saturday's game will receive a ticket voucher for any of the Rampage's home games in November. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the campaign to fans who grow the best moustache.
Fans can also sign up to support one of three Rampage teams throughout Movember and donate to a team or player of their choice. The Rampage players will be divided into three teams - Team Hodges, Team Brickley and Team Turgeon - for the duration of Movember, with each team aiming to raise the most money to support the Movember Foundation.
Fans can choose their favorite team and follow their progress throughout the month while sharing photos of their own moustaches on social media with the hash tag #RampageMo.
San Antonio's Nov. 14 game against the Charlotte Checkers will be the mid-month check-in, presented by First Choice Emergency Room. At the conclusion of Movember, five donors will be chosen to attend a Rampage practice and enjoy lunch with the winning team at a date and time to be arranged by the San Antonio Rampage.
The Movember Foundation is the leading global organization committed to changing the face of men's health. The organization's efforts are focused on the month of November, in which men are challenged to grow (and women to support) moustaches to spark conversation and raise funds for men's health issues, specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems. The funds raised by the Movember Foundation benefit organizations such as the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Livestrong Foundation.
Visit sarampage.com throughout the month to follow each player's progress and for more information about how to support the team's Movember efforts.
The Rampage take on the Adirondack Flames Wednesday at 6 p.m. CT to close out a five-game road trip. San Antonio returns home for Zombie Night on Oct. 31, which will also be a MIX 96.1 $1 Drink Night at the AT&T Center. Individual and season tickets can be purchased by calling a Rampage representative at 210-444-5554 or online at sarampage.com .
