BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators suffered its first regulation loss on home ice this season, losing 3-2 to the Utica Comets. Utica used two second period goals just over four minutes apart to build a 3-1 lead and hold on for the one goal victory.

Carter Bancks scored his second goal of the 2014-15 season 10:12 into the first period to give Utica the 1-0 lead. Binghamton answered just over one minute later when Jean-Gabriel Pageau did a 180-degree spin before beating Utica's netminder Joacim Eriksson far post for his second tally this year.

Quick strikes from Peter Andersson at 3:22 and Bobby Sanguinetti at 7:42 of the second gave Utica a 3-1 lead, before Chris Wideman notched his team-leading fourth goal of the year at 8:21 to cut the Comets lead to 3-2.

Binghamton dominated puck possession for much of the third period; however, Eriksson continued to stonewall the B-Sens chances for an equalizer goal.

Eriksson finished the night with 27 saves while Andrew Hammond, who started his eight consecutive game for Binghamton, stopped 27 of 30 shots faced in the losing effort.

Binghamton travels to Utica Friday, October 31, for a 7:00p.m. rematch against the Comets.
