San Antonio Rampage News Release
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Defenseman Ryan Graves landed the game-winning goal with 36 seconds remaining in regulation as the San Antonio Rampage (34-29-10-0) defeated the Cleveland Monsters (24-39-7-3) 4-3 on Sunday at Quicken Loans Arena.
Andrew Agozzino was the first to sound the horn with a shorthanded tally at 14:40 of the opening period when Travis Barron found the forward alone at mid-ice, leading to a breakaway goal. Cleveland evened the game at 16:42 after Calvin Thurkauf delivered a pass to Brady Austin, who fired a shot from the left point over the shoulder of goaltender Adam Werner.
San Antonio regained the lead 44 seconds into the second stanza after Agozzino finished a centering pass from Barron with a one timer for his second of the game. The Monsters notched the game at 13:30 when Grant Besse made a pass from behind the net to Jefferson Dahl, who found the back of the cage for the second time this season. Samuel Blais gave the Silver and Black a one-goal lead with 73 seconds remaining in the period after skating past two Cleveland defenders and beating Kivlenieks with a backhander.
Cleveland tied the game for the third time after Thurkauf forced a turnover at mid-ice and went 1-on-3 before hitting the puck off Werner and into the net 43 seconds into the final frame. The Rampage regained the lead for good after Graves collected a pass from Nicolas Meloche and fired a wrist shot into the net from the left point with 36 seconds remaining in regulation, securing a 4-3 victory for San Antonio.
